Reflection of Objectified

I really enjoyed watching this movie in class. The main thing I think that I learned while watching Objectified would probably be about how human interaction is such a huge factor, when creating an object. I never really realized the importance of how a product works with the human body. For example the idea of making a chair, and how every chair has the same basic layout, but different designers will add different elements that they believe will be the most comfortable. However, no one sways from the same ninety degree angle of the chair.
Another example would be the creation of the potato peeler. The grip of the  peeler is something that would never cross my mind unless I was physically using that tool. Making prototypes and actually using the product before mass producing it is very important in creating a well designed object. If the designers really focused on the user and the human interaction, consumers would be much more pleased with the design world and its products.

2nd prototype interviews

Olivia: " Yes, I would use that. It's cool!"

Marie: "I would only make it a chalkboard if it its bigger. If you keep it that size, I would use bright colors.

Abby: "It's cool, a good product! I would use
pastels and split it in 4 sections."

Allie: " I would actually buy that! It's a little small for a chalkboard. I would probably use pastels."

Megan: "I would make it five times bigger. We have a lot of jewelry!"

Sophia: "I would make it have a wood finish, or a deep neutral. I would keep it as just one photo. Also I would extend the bottom for more space."

Isabella: "I would put the rods for rings on the outside and use a wood finish. Bigger would be better too."

Tristian: "I have to say black. It sounds cool. I'd use neon colors. I like the mirror idea. If it's white, I'd use pastels, and if it's black, I'd use neon."

Keana: "I think a dark color, bronzy, or silver chrome (could use for dry erase). 4x6 would be best. The only problem would be that it has to be horizontal. Maybe make the hooks detachable."
